Well, to be fair ''Latin'' is an English term. Both 'Latin' and 'Latino' are the same term. The difference is that Americans corrupted the meaning of Latin, implying it's some kind of ''race'' when it's just a linguistic and cultural term.

Latinos were a people from central Italy, Latinos, Etruscan, italiotian, etc... all were incorporated by the Roman Empire that erroneously or not (Latin lanyard) call it latinos.
