Default Potential Problem With National Geographic Genetic Testing (Geno 2.0)

For Christmas last year, my brother purchased a geno 2.0 kit for every member of my nuclear family. I sent mine in first, they all sent theirs in within about a month.

I got my results back, J-L210 for the y-dna and U5a1a1 for mitochondrial. Totally awesome.

My father just got his results back, and he was significantly upstream from me (M67). I know he's my (genetic) father, we've verified that through both Ancestry and 23andme.

So, it occurred to me that there could be a few reasons for these results.

    1) He actually is M67, and I just happened to mutate into an exact strain that's been in existence for thousands of years (I could also win the lottery 4 times in a row and get struck by lightning whilst standing in my bathtub)
    2) His test sample was exposed to the elements and compromised in the mailing process.
    3) They rushed his results/whatever technology they're using to sequence DNA is a tad faulty.

I was wondering if anyone had thoughts on the matter, or had a similar experience with genetic testing?

It's just due to National Geno 2.0 probably not testing the downstreams properly. L210 is a downstream of M67 so he is L210 but they probably didn't test for it

The Albanians, these tigers of mountain wars ... have as their religion rebellion. Even their worst warrior is one of the strongest and bravest on the battle-field, just as if he was a knight on the legendary horse. But he has no horse, nor proper weapons for battle. Instead of the horse, he has a lance which strikes as lightning, he has spears who's points are full of posion as the sting of hornets, he has also a wooden bow with some arrows. Furthermore, he is stronger than iron ...

Right, but we took the same test and got different results. I was joking about "me mutating into J-L210", I'm saying Geno 2.0 tested me for them - so in theory my father taking the exact same test a week or two later should have been no different.
