can anybody explain me why the older gentlemen won (did they even win ? I guess they did since it seems that they are celebrating)

I used to play chess in my childhood and teen age. This game looks like a quick chess (blitz) and the guy that lost it had made the impossible move, i. e. he moved the figure of the opponent. I think that was the reason for his loss. It's forbidden to make impossible moves.

I guess the pressure of time limit made him do the erroneous move. It was his mistake of course.

No, it wasn't Magnus who made the fatal move. It was his team mate. This game was 2 vs 2. And they say that his team mate was an amateur player.
