An influential American magazine has named London the global capital of the 21st century.

The new issue of New York magazine has paid homage to its sister and rival city of London, claiming the financial, cultural and culinary benefits of London now tower over those of New York. (The world's only two Alpha++ cities.)

Both an ancient and ultra-modern city that's rich in historic architecture and culture along with energy-efficient modern architecture, London has been an innovative city and a major trading centre long before the existence of NY, and London is conveniently located between eastern and western time zones and where world time begins due to the Prime Meridian.

London is the only city in the world to have hosted the international Olympics 3 times. London also won the bid to host the World Athletics Championships in 2017.

London is a leading global city in the arts, commerce, education, entertainment, fashion, finance, healthcare, media, professional services, research and development, tourism and transportation.

This is true in most Western lands and their main urban areas. The issue seems to be how these major cities with their multicultural "flavour" are seen to be influencing the politicians more-so than the regional cities and rural districts. Making wholesale changes to the nature of the nation to satisfy these minorities and their supporters, whether for votes or to be seen "moral", "ethical" and proactive for these newcomers rights.
