Well, there are always exceptions. Cantonese people in general are small, but I have met one who was 6'8.

As for China, the height difference between the Northern regions of China and the Southern regions are far greater than the difference between Nordics and Southern Europeans. I was in Hainan province which is the southernmost island province by Vietnam and the natives were very small and looked somewhat Southeast Asian, the men were probably 5'6 on average and very slightly built. But there were many tourists from Dongbei in Northeast China and they just towered over the locals, on average about 5'10 with many way over 6'0 and taller than me even, I'm close to 6'2. They were very Northern Asian looking, pale skinned and brawny.

Do you have any source citing the height comparison between North/South Europe and North/South China? From Googling men height, I got Southern Italian at 174.2 cm and Sweden at 180 cm. Roughly 5-6 cm difference. I avoided using the two extremes (Netherland and Portugal) because there may be some other factors going on. This can be compared to a 2015 Chinese infographic, with Shandong (tallest province) at 175.4 cm and Guangxi (shortest province) at 168.9 cm. Aren't they quite comparable?

South Korea young men height (18-21 years old) according to Korean military survey was 173 cm, with a range from 137 cm (?) to 201 cm. Not convinced yet, I googled the average height of men for SK, and I got 173.5, 175 and 175.3 cm. Taiwan can be 171.4 or 173 cm depending on source. Since Taiwan and SK have similar level of development, the maximum height difference (4-5 cm) is not very significant to be honest.

The average height of Singaporeans is 170.4 or 171 cm depending on source. Taiwanese are actually taller than Singaporean, probably due to higher number of northern Chinese ancestry in Taiwan. Additionally, Singapore ethnic composition is 73.4% Chinese, 13.4% Malay and 9% Indian. But despite that, Singaporeans aren't that much shorter than South Koreans. I also find it hard to imagine Northern Chinese being taller (genetically) than South Koreans.

However, it's true that Vietnamese (genetic cousin of Cantonese) are quite short. They were only 162 cm according to a relatively reliable 2016 source. But this may be due to environment rather than genetics, as their neighbor Thailand was cited to be 170 cm.
