Tsar Boris III agreed to create an autonomous Macedonia within Bulgaria in WW2

On 14 August 1943, a few days before his death, King Boris III also met with Adolf Hitler in Germany. During the talks, Hitler has argued the need for an autonomous Macedonia to be created into the frames of the Bulgarian Kingdom, with Mihailov as its head.[15] Boris III agreed with this proposal. Hitler also desperately wanted to convince Boris III to declare war on the Soviet Union and to transfer most of the Bulgarian army on the Eastern and on the Italian fronts. For that purpose the IMRO militias had to take the functions of the Bulgarian army in the Newly liberated lands in Greece and Yugoslavia. After Boris' subsequent death these plans failed.

I'm wondering what is the point of this post.
It's also really obvious why Hitler wanted that stupid idea to happen. If you've read it, it said that he wanted the Bulgarian forces to join the war on the Soviet Union and so the imro would become the militarised police in the area. And just to add that this Mihailov was a terrorist that was allied with the ustaše...what a great plan that would be.

The state was created in the end, but not as part of Bulgaria, but as an independent state. Problem is that it was created in 1944, already too late, so didn't last long.

On September 5, 1944 the Bulgarian troops began to abandon their positions in Macedonia after the Red Army invaded their country. Ivan Mikhailov, the leader of IMRO (Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization - VMRO) who refused to live in Macedonia under Bulgarian control and was conspiring with Hitler and Himmler on the creation of Macedonian military units, returned to Skopje and the Germans offered him a job of the Führer of the new Independent Macedonian State. Smartly concluding that the Germans lost the war already, he declined and left for Italy. His follower and mayor of Skopje, Spiro Kitanchev took the job and became the President of the Administration of the Independent Macedonian State. As it was proven later, Mikhailov made the right move as he managed to live until 1990 in Rome while Kitanchev was soon captured by the Tito's partisans, tried, sentenced to death and promptly executed.

Yes but the reason it was created in the first place was only so that Mihailov's(or Mikhailov's, i don't know which is more correct) forces would police the state after the Bulgarians would leave to fight on the eastern front.
What's funny is that he left just in the right time when the Germans were losing so he managed to survive the Yugoslavs. So you can't say he wasn't smart. In the end of the story the Germans used them so that he could bring the Bulgarians to fight the Russians.

The Germans should have established the independent Macedonian state much earlier and kept it under German control instead of dividing Macedonia. The Germans kept western Greek macedonia and Salonica under their control due to its strategic position (supply line) and gave the rest of macedonia to Bulgaria and Italy/Albania. It should have instead set up independent Macedonia based on the Croatian model from the start.

Regarding Mihailov, the CIA kept close tabs on him during and after the war. It’s interesting that he didn’t give up on his dream of an independent Macedonia after the war. Here’s one of many CIA reports on him;

They didn't care about your ancestors they just wanted to use you to police the state when Bulgarians would leave, so that was a better plan than what you propose for the Germans. I'm sure that eventually Bulgaria would absorb you anyway.It didn't happen but that was the plan anyway.
The CIA kept a close eye to all those allied to the Axis that they didn't kill after the war so that's not surprising.
I had never heard of it anyway so it's good to know it.
