This is a catchy song and a good video. Feminism is a malignant tumor upon the world.

The irony is, s/he's this big, burly ex-dude acting very traditionally masculine and aggressive.
I know "Big Red" has become a legendary meme, but if you actually listen to what she said in the first argument (not included in this video), she made some good points but the men she was arguing with were more interested in antagonizing her.
She said, "The idea that women are better suited to take on the care-taking role is a product of patriarchy" and the point she was trying to make was that the reason why the courts disproportionately award custody to the mother is due to traditional notions of gender roles, so MRAs' best bet to get a fair shot at custody of their children is to dismantle this system which perpetuates this outmoded legal reasoning and its resulting effects.
The concept of alimony is based on outmoded ideas. It is a legal dinosaur that unfortunately still haunts our society.
There's all kinds of videos about Disney songs being racist and rapey.

OK. Fine. But then how can MRAs complain that the courts disproportionately award custody to the mother regardless of her fitness vis-a-vis the father?
The reason why these things persist is because the legal reasoning behind them persists. This is as true as disproportionate awarding of custody to mothers is as it is to alimony.

I don't know if that is true or not.
Alimony exists because between the husband and the wife the responsibility to take care of the child at home falls on the woman while the responsibility to pay for everyone's needs falls on the husband. A woman out of work for a period of time taking care of an infant/toddler has to now find a job with a large gap in her work history. She's not going to make as much money as her husband who during this same time is gaining experience at his work that leads to better pay. She's going to have trouble paying her bills through no fault of her own.The reason why these things persist is because the legal reasoning behind them persists. This is as true as disproportionate awarding of custody to mothers is as it is to alimony.
Now the problem is when the child is old enough to go to school and instead of using that time alimony allows to acquire marketable skills so she can fend for herself financially she doesn't bother to do anything that could make her financially self sufficient and of course the longer the employment gap the much harder it becomes to earn a decent wage. Eventually, for this piece of shit of a human being, when the alimony ends (and that can be whenever) the child support becomes more about taking care of her needs than it does the child.
