    Not in Belgrade but elsewhere in Serbia. I remember an exchange between me and Moje ime a long time ago in the Dutch picture thread and she was quite impressed with our infrastructure and the fact that our landscape was so uncluttered. In the meantime, the Serbs are playing catch-up and they are damn good at it too:

    The section constructed by TRACE is situated in Grdelica valley, between Predejane and Caricina Dolina locations. It has a total length of 4.7 km and is part of Corridor 10.

    Section from Dići (near Ljig) to Čačak.

    Wake up and smell the coffee.

    Belgrade is the capital of Serbia. The city name in Serbian: Београд, Beograd means 'White City'. This south-eastern European capital is mostly off the usual tourist map though some travellers come to Belgrade to experience the city’s atmosphere or nightlife. We start our evening walk in summer (August 2019) at the south end of the main walking street Kneza Mihaila. We walk the whole street north-west to Kalemegdan Park and the Kale Meydan - a viewing spot. The significant landmark of Belgrade is the Beogradska Tvrđava forttress. We can overlook the confluence of the Danube and the Sava rivers and walk around the fortress park. There we check out different viewing spots and the Military Museum. It is getting dark so with the sunset we head back to the city centre. We see several side streets of Kneza Mihaila with cafés and restaurants that are lively on this summer evening. The night arrives as we walk further to end our tour near the National Assembly and New Palace (Nowy Dwor) in Pionirski park. Filmed in August 2019 Camera: Osmo Pocket in 4K60 Mic: Zoom H1

    Interesting. Again this French guy's name?
    Austro-Bavarian Nutzies were also naming criminal SS Divisions and cruise battle ships sinking British civilian ships after him.
    Prinz Eugen seemingly has an important position in the Central European Catholic Fetish.

    Not in Belgrade but elsewhere in Serbia:

    Novi Sad (Нови Сад) is a city in northern Serbia. Nicely located at the Danube River it has a walkable centre and the hilltop Petrovaradin Fortress which dates to the 17th and 18th century. We start our walk in the city center on the Trg Slobode with "The Name of Mary Church" (Serbian and Croatian: Crkva imena Marijinog). Our round goes through the old town where we eventually go East towards the Danube through the Danube's Park (Дунавски парк). We cross the Danube via the Vardinski bridge. The sunset is close so we walk up to the Petrovaradin Fortress with its iconic clock tower for a nice view over Novi Sad and end this walk.

    ENG: Here is an Interesting story from the past about the street lights in Belgrade. The first light bulb in Belgrade was placed in a local tavern. On the occasion of reading the hatt-i sharif (a document of an official nature composed by an Ottoman sultan), a ceremony was organized and then the Serbian capital got its first street lanterns. There were two of them, one was on the Terazije Square, while the other was at the city hall. The population generally considered that the city lights brought turmoil into their lives, and that the city became ugly because of all those ugly poles being placed around. Just as the people got used to lanterns, began the story of electricity and the electric lights. However, the process of electrifying the city did not work out quite easily, because there were those who were always bothered by something about it. The first electric light bulb began to glow on October 6, 1893 at the corner of the Kolarčeva Street and Makedonska Street.

    ------------------------------------------------->

    СРБ: Занимљива прича из прошлости, а тиче се осветљавања града Београда. Наиме, прва сијалица у Београду засијала је у једној кафани. Поводом читања Хатишерифа, организована је свечаност, и тада престоница бива први пут осветљена фењерима. Постављена су два, један се налазио на Теразијама, док је други био код општинске куће. Становништво је углавном сматрало да је струја донела немир у њихове животе, да је град унакажен постављањем ружних стубова. Тек што су се варошани навикли на фењере, почињу приче о струји и електричним сијалицама. Међутим, увођење струје није ишло баш лако, будући да постоје они којима увек нешто смета. Прва електрична сијалица почиње да сија 6. октобра 1893. године, на углу улица Коларчеве и Македонске.
