Post examples of unrelated songs that sound strangely alike

No-one else is gonna know both of these songs, but Last Experience by Nu-NRG and Alice Practice by Crystal Castles. (Or maybe Celestia as an ex-emo turned indie would know about Crystal Castles.)

In the main hook of both songs, there's a chord progression where the sixth note of the scale is repeated for one measure, the fifth note is repeated for one measure, and the fourth note is repeated for two measures. And at the start of each measure except the fourth one, the melody has a note that is two tones above the root note of the chord.

I was walking thru a store the other day and 'Love Yourself' by Justin Bieber was playing in the background (written by Ed Sheeran). The melody to the verses had always sounded familiar to me, but I was never able to place it. Anyway, while in the store, it struck me that the verses to 'Love Yourself' had the same chord progression, and similar melody to the verses in the old Toots and the Maytals song 'Love Is Gonna Let Me Down'. It's just the verses that are similar, the chorus's are completely different.
