Who are more lighter on average, the Germans or Irish?

Germans from the south of the country are "darker" than the Irish. The Germans from the north are "lighter" than the Irish.

The Irish are over-all fairer than the Germans, fact. In skin color, the Irish are paler and have a much higher frequency of skin Phototypes I/II than Germans, for this same reason Germans tan/naturally darken a lot than the "ghostly" Irish. Though today almost half of Irish females use various types of fake tan products. The Irish also have a much higher tendency for the ability for skin to freckle than Germans due to a higher frequency of more sun-sensitive skin types. In eye colour, the Irish surpass the Germans as a whole, higher frequencies of blue and green eyes especially. Though some northern German groups are also prevalently but nowhere will surpass the Irish. In hair colour now is where it is more complicated, blond hair as a whole is more common amongst the Germans than the Irish, especially the northern German groups. Although a few southern and also western German groups are less blond than the Irish. It is here than most people make mistakes by concluding that the Irish are darker, oh well they are actually not darker! Blond hair doesn't account for the totality of light hair by the way. Red hair as expected is obviously more common with the Irish than in all German groups without exception, it is because of higher of redheadedness that the Irish are paler-skinned and tan much less than Germans. Light hair in its totality is slightly higher in the Irish total than German total, in that respect the Irish are more similar to the northern German groups (Despite the fact that they are not equally blond/red-haired). Thus in all aspects of pigmentation put together skin + eye + hair colour, it's the Irish who wins the fair prize.
