Why Serbian politicians sent their pilots against NATO aviation?

Many Serbian pilots were destroyed, but survived becaouse of catapulting, but 3 of them died (Zoran Radosavljević, Milenko Pavlović and Života Đurić). Iljo Arizanov also died becouse of hearth attack, mostly probably of aviation-fall tragedy. Why Serbian politicians send those pilots if their aviation was triple less-powerful than NATO was in that moment?

Because Serbia was fighting against NATO and when a country is in war then it uses all possible resources against enemy.

If every second aircraft (or every) was not correct (radar, or rocket launcher). Not to mention that their range was very low. What was their mission? Those people are proud today, of course, but even they knew that those mission were impossible missions.

Their mission was to defend honor of Serbia, and show the world we won't go out without a fight.
