Palestinian origins are usually from 3 sources: (not by order)
1. Jews that never left to the diaspora and other levantine tribes that had to convert to Islam (some tribes of "Arabs" in hebron area know they are Jews that forcibly converted to Islam).
2. Arab and Middle eastern immigrants from Syria,Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt. Most of them came during the Ottoman era.
3. Some came soon as the Islamic caliphate but they are a very small minority .
I wonder what percentage of Palestinians are actually descendants to the "original" Jews. Sephardim and Ashkenazim are roughly half Northern Italian and half Jews (if Jews mean levantines from Judea), sometimes with some other European, Asian and North African traces; while even Mizrahim have other West and sometimes central Asian types of Admix.
It seems like the original Jews were similar to modern day Samaritans.
