I like Basque people, for their tenacious attachment to their culture and language, the oldest European language, a true relic of the European remote past.

I also admire Jews for their resilience, in their history they survived invasions by Babylonians and Assyrians, deportations to Babylonia and Egypt, they survived 2000 years of diaspora after the Roman repression, the WW2 Holocaust, and despite all these disgraces they managed to preserve their culture, religion and language, and they also managed to return to their ancestral homeland to build a powerful nation feared by their surrounding enemies.
