    Default Recommend me mtdna test

I would like to test my father's side mtDNA. I am looking at yseq, and not to be too expensive.

What is HVR1 + HVR2 test, is it useful ? Or any other idea what test to take ?

    Thanks a lot

Any other idea ? I plan to find out my deeper subclade in near future, too.

23&me. You will get all 3: autosomal, Y DNA and mtDNA ( although without subclades) at the lowest possible price.

Thing is I already did 23andme. I want to test my father's mtdna. And I already know his Y, so I think specialized mtdna test is better choice.

H is the most common in Europe, good chances that you and Stearsolina are H.

I am H10e, but I don't know what is mtdna of my father. And it my be interesting because his maternal line comes from island in Adriatic sea that has some very unusual haplogroups

I believe FTDNA has kits that can be used to just test mtDNA and downstreams.

Those are predicted, not certain as far as I know. It would be nice if 23andme stated probability and accuracy of those Y-DNA and mtDNA results.
