Default Life in Finland and Alcohol Prohibition?

There is a very intetresting post on the history of Alcohol and the state run Alko Stores in Finland.
Living here in Finland I find the current system to be woefully lacking.
Alcohol can only be boughyt between 0900-2000.Thereb are Finnish people who still make home Pontikka in the forests
When is Finland going to join Europe and open the market for all.Though I realise that Alko and the Finnish State can not afford to loose the fevenue gained from monopolising the market
    Finls
and and it love affair with Alcohol

Read more on this subject and I would be interested in reradfetrs views from around the world

    Best Regards

After several years living in Helsinki,I still get annoyed when I realize that you can buy anything at the store except beer if it's later than 21:00...I never remember it.And Alko closes earlier than most other shops.

Here its from 7:30 til 22:00
The reason is to prevent buying alcohol late and driving drunk. Its real problem here.
Also here we have this Pontikka self made alcohol, but its mostly popular in countryside. I avoid drinking such shit.

Sounds like something my Romania grandpa would do

My usual maxim here is what Reagan had to say on the problems and government:

“In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem, government IS the problem."

Wake up and smell the coffee.

I can't imagine living in a state or country with government run alcohol stores. Seems like a huge pain in the ass.

I am glad we don't have it here. I still believe that the government should scrap the excise duties and allow pub owners to decide whether smoking is allowed on the premises and set their own hiring policy in accordance to that. The government has done enough damage to the MKB (the small business owners) and the middle class and should get the fuck out.

Damn straight, especially if that government is working against the well being of the native majority populace.
