Martin Fielder, an anthropologist at Vienna University, surveyed a group of six men and six women, showing them each 4,018 photographs of 18-20-year-old men and 4,416 photographs of women of the same age.

Those with older fathers were consistently rated as being less attractive.

Dr Fielder said: 'The effect is very visible - someone born to a father of 22 is already 5-10 per cent more attractive than those with a 40-year-old father and the difference grows with the age gap.'

Do you have a link? It makes somewhat sense, but it's still just a semi-quantitative study on a subjective trait that uses only twelve people to rate attractiveness. Were all those 12 ppl ethnic Austrians or from other ethnicities as well? Did the photographs show only faces or whole figures? There are so many confounding factors in such a study, so I tend to be a bit skeptic.

One peer reviewed study does not prove that it is objective truth. I hate idiots who think one peer reviewed study is a guarantee of gospel truth it is so moronic. Anyway, he needs to be not a anthropologist but more of a biologist/geneticist.

Confounding factors ? Don't forget about possible statistical p-hacking.

Also, in regards to social science and medical research a Greek high school math star turned biomedical published a paper “Why Most Published Research Findings Are False” and it touched off a fierce bout of self-criticism in the field(s) but I doubt anything has changed much for the better :

I don't think stuff like that would ever be published. The reviewers would ravage that down and they probably wouldn't read past the introduction section. 12 participants for a quantitative study. Seems legit.
