Why do I get so much criticism because of my attitudes towards sex?

You're just going against the grain in this regard so some backlash is normal, I would say most people are just teasing you.

But that said, when it comes to sexuality and religious conservatism it's easy to assume too much and end up offending someone without the intent to. Sex is a very intimate thing and one person's opinion/comment about it, even if generalised and not aimed at anyone in particular can be taken as an attack to someone else that has an opposing view about it.

For example, if you say "I would not have a one night stand, I rather wait till after marriage." someone might take it completely the wrong way as "ah so I girl that likes to have fun is not moral enough for you?! Sexist!" Of course if that statement was phrased as such as "everybody who engages in pre-marital sex is immoral and bound for punishment" then that person deserves a good thrashing.

Now those are just some examples, I'm not saying that you say such things, I even remember you arguing with some guy in another thread that although you don't endorse homosexuality you don't think that gays should be punished, the other guy (I might be wrong here) endorsed killing them.

Everybody here has probably engaged with the old "judgy preaching Christian" person on some occasion or another IRL and they're probably sick of hearing them spouse judgemental BS. The problem with those types of people is that they stain a whole religion, causing any semblance of conservative Christian ideas to be lumped together with completely intolerant arseholes and as such are met with hostility and instant dismissal.


Also, I'm not saying what I think is right when it comes to individual sexuality but this is just my 2 cents from what I have observed of conservative/sexuality dialogues, I personally do not lean towards any side, just balance between healthy sexuality and responsability.
