    Default Spain trip suggestions

I'll be landing in Barcelona soon next month and will be staying there for two weeks. I was planning to spend about 5 days in Barcelona, do a day trip to tarragona from Barcelona, 4 days in Madrid and possible day trip to El Escorial or Segovia from Madrid and then 3 days in Valencia. Any suggestions for where else to go or do within two weeks alternatively? Would the north be worth visiting instead such as Basque country or Asturias?

    Barcelona? you are crazy...

Spend your time in the true Spain: Castilla y León (Valladolid, Segovia, Ávila, Salamanca, León), Cantabria (try this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuente_D%C3%A9_cable_car) and Asturias (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Covadonga).

If you visit Madrid, then: definitely El Escorial, el Valle de los Caídos and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Ca...anares_el_Real

There were a couple places in Castilla y León that I wanted to see also such as Segovia for the castles, Burgos for being the historic capital of Castilla and birthplace of Castellano and Salamanca for the university.
The teleférico in Cantabria looks fun and I would like to visit Cordovonga because of the historical significance for being the beginning of the Reconquista which I've learned about from my Medieval Spain class this semester.

What about Galicia? Is Vigo worth spending time in? I originally wanted to do a trip in España Verde which included seeing Asturias, Cantabria and Galicia.

Indeed, I actually visited last time when I went to Spain and it did not disappoint at all. Very historical and significant city in Spanish history.

Yeah, I should have included Galicia in my post, I lived there three years. Absolutely recommendable. Vigo and the rest of las Rías Bajas, La Coruña...

Spain is too big to visit in a few days. You should focus on one specific part.

That's true, for that reason I originally wanted to focus visiting the Northern part of Spain starting in Bilbao and moving west through Asturias, Cantabria and ending in Galicia. Perhaps even visit Burgos or Leon since its close to North. I think 2 weeks might be enough to do this

Yeah, that is a good travel and for sure you would not regret. The best Spain if you add Castilla y León. I was in León the last summer, I had not been there since a child and oh, absolute wonderful city.

Two weeks are long enough for much.

Anyways, I hope to see at least 1 or 2 cities in Castilla during this trip god willing
