The "Sicilian" samples on Eurogenes are very north shifted compared to the average person on the island, because they used the most northern plotting region on each side of the island to represent them. If places like Agrigento or Messina were choices, there is no mainland Greek who would score them in their top 5.

Northern shifted or not,it doesn't change that Mainlanders can get them often as closer matches than Albania or Kosovo.

Also among the Peloponnesian results there are not only such that get Sicilian first but even results that get Ashkenazi Jewish before
Albanian or Kosovo.

But you know full well that this is not common.

I have never seen a result of a native person from Thessaly or north of it scoring Sicilian over Albanian/Kosovar, and even among Peloponnesian results it is not common.

I posted a lot of Thessalians the other day. 6 of the 9 were closer to North Italians than to Sicilians, and all 9 were closer to Kosovars and Albanians than to either.

The distance between Sicily and the Peloponnese is due to the fact that the Sicilians have higher components of West-Med, South-Caucasian, SW-Euro while the Greeks have more Paleo-Balkan, North-Caucasian, East-Euro and Baltic.
