Maranhao along with Bahia are the least euro states of Northeast.
Bahia is very african and european.
Maranhao is very trirracial.
Both were important slavery ports along with PE, RJ, RS and SP. The difference is that PE also received a lot of white colonials(mainly northwest iberians with some dutch presence) that are spread also in PB, CE and RN.
