Mongols were great territorial conquerers, but they never really had any sophisticated forms of technology/inventions I'm thinking

They heavily depended upon Persian civilization, this why many of the Mongols eventually became Persianates. Not to mention those in China eventually became Sincized. They were in many ways just a military empire. However the Mongols stagnated the Middle East, and eventually let Europe especially Western Europe to lead the way. However they were not powerful as they were made to be. For example in the initial battles, under Gengis Khan they were defeated by the Abbassid forces. However there was a great betrayal by the Vizir who invited Hulgu Khan to march to the one of the greatest cities ever known, thus there was slaughter and destruction. Plus he advised the Caliph to reduce the number of the Knights, to ensure Mongol victory.

The Mongol defeat at Ayin Jalut would eventually is what ultimately show the decline in the Mongol empire, it was the first defeat that the empire had faced. Then afterwards the Vietnamese, the Japanese, and Indonesians manage to confine them. A branch of the Mongols would convert to Islam, and would continue to raid Russia, they would adopt the Kipchak language as lingua franca, actually the Mamluk Baibars helped them to their conversion. The Ilkhanate themselves would also convert to Islam. From this however another Mongol leader Timur the Lame would rage terror throughout the Middle East again, he manages to conquer the Levant from the Mamlukes, but he does not stay before he pushed into Iraq, where his empire take a shape of Persianate cultural empire, and from lineage the Muslim Mughals of India are formed.

Hulgu for example fell in love with Persian civilization and it's mystical and esoteric nature. He had a Persian scientist and occult practitioner named Nasir Al-Din Tusi whom he would rely for divination, and in one of them because he would shed blood of the last Abbassid Caliph, there would be omen and there will be no rain, especially if the blood of the Caliph touched the ground. Thus he devise the sick plan of wrapping the Caliph in a carpet and trampled by horses to death. This of course occurred. However the chronicles show that those who survived fled to Egypt and India, however many of the mercenaries were of Georgian, Armenian, and even Persians. The most brutal after the Mongol themselves were the Georgians who were named Al-Karkh which is now part of Baghdad. On February 10 Baghdad surrendered. The Mongols and their allies swept into the city on February 13 and began a week of massacre, looting, rape, and destruction. However at this Hulgu establishes the Ilkhanate dynasty which slowly eventually get Persianized.

Mongols didn't invade China with anything Persian you desert dweller. They had fearless soldiers and genius military commanders of mostly Turkic origins (like the Tuvan Urankhai Subutei) and they conquered all around.

I never said that in my post. They used Persian civilization especially those in the West, well those in the east became Sinized. They used Georgian, Armenian and Persians in the invasion of Baghdad. They were defeated by the Vietnamese, Japanese and Indonesians. Even if they were Tuvans or other turkics they have very little to do with Anatolian Turks.

Two opposing antagonists, Bori and StonyArabia are in many ways similar, both are proponents of folk-history and youtube videos rather than records or publications.
