I would have been very surprised if the Greek state hadn’t eradicated all signs of Slavic language in northern Greece after the Balkan wars or the Greek civil war. Come on, what did you expect? After the Greek civil war, the Slavo-Macedonians who had remained in northern Greece sided with the communists, they lost, they were expelled and whoever was left behind was forcefully assimilated. But most of all, they betrayed the Greek state.

I know that the Balkan wars and the Greek civil war are a different topic, but the Slavo-Macedonians of northern Greece are a part of both of these phases of Greek history.
