child abuse is kinda a broad term. it can vary from someone hitting a kid arm once to all the way beating the shit out of him 24/7h. So its difficult. Best way to go about this is by assessing the individual case and punishing him "accordingly". I picked jail time because its the standard way of penalizing deviants of this case and there was no "other/depends on the case" choice.

Yeah, its still a broad term. You wouldn't give some parent death sentence because he hit him once. Abusing him sexually or brutally beating him up is what i would sentence him harsher for.
