They remind me the Macedonians and even the Bulgars of 100% Serbian stock, well, Bulgars 98% Serbian direct ancestry.
William Mac Michael in his book “Journey from Moscow to Constantinople, in the years 1817, 1818” pages 132 and 133, he writes:
“The native Christian inhabitants of this country, anciently known by the name Moesia, but now divided into two districts, denominated Serbia and Bulgaria, are collectively called Serbiani, and speak the Slavonian language; for the original Bulgarians were a Tartar people, who came in the fifth century from the banks of the Volga, and successively adopted the Slavonian dialect of their new countrymen the Serbians, retaining only a few words of their former language”.
