In general it appears the southwest of Italy (Campania, Calabria, Sicily) has more Near Eastern input than does Apulia, Abruzzo, or Lucania.

Some, but not all, Apulians are so northern shifted that they could be modeled as mainland Greeks.

People who have had DNA testing in south Italy are very few and I am sure that these individuals were born in America and have ancestors not only from Italy or, more likely, not only from the places indicated in this thread. So what are you accusing Sikeliot of doing?
And what data do you have to post on the subject that you deem legit and beyond repute?
Italian Americans up until relatively recently in the USA, were a very tight knit group and didn't intermarry often.

I have no reason to distrust Sikeliot's gedmatch posts. Regarding the family tree concern, that criticism can apply to anyone's kit, even if they were born in the place they purport to come from.

2) The fact Lebanese also comes up means these areas are not identical to the mainland, and that Apulians have also received (or retained) ancestry from a population that is more comparable to the Levant than the Balkans. In that case, they are not good proxy for mainland Greece.
