Default Poland's largest city is... NOT Warsaw!

It's true. The largest city in Poland is the Silesian Metropolis, with at its core the municipality of Katowice. More populous than Warzaw, and the extended metropolitan area has almost twice the population of Warsaw's.

It's also the economic heart of Poland. And it used to have a majority of German inhabitants up to 1945.

Not really, as it became part of Poland already in 1922 after the Silesian Plebiscite and Uprisings:

Even before that it wasn't very German, although the city of Katowice itself was mostly German:

In year 1900 Warsaw was very Jewish, Poles were slightly more than 1/2 of inhabitants. Cracow had the highest % of ethnic Polish inhabitants, followed by Poznań (Posen) as 2nd. Lwów (now Lviv) with its over 200 thousand inhabitants was the 2nd largest city after Warsaw which had ethnic Polish majority. Chicago had the highest absolute number of Poles of any city, Warsaw was 2nd.

I don't know where you are getting your data from but Warsaw is by far the biggest city, followed by Krakow. Katowice is barely on the top 10.

If you are comparing metropolitan areas then maybe but I think 5 million inhabitants is exaggerated, it must have about the same as Warsaw's metropolitan area.

You are being ignorant on purpose, and twist my words. You really are a sad old git.

I used Wikipedia numbers, you can check for yourself. I didn't make it up. And read carefully what I say. Don't wallow in your ignorance and stupidity.

Nop, the person who is twisting things is you. You said on the thread title that Poland's Warsaw is not the largest city but that "Silesian Metropolis" is instead. As far as I am concerned, there's no such thing as a city named Silesian Metropolis, it is just a metropolitan area.

    Metropolitan area ≠ City
