Travelling Eastern Europe in January

Hey guys

I've got a number of weeks off in January and would love to travel through Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. I'm happy to face really bad/cold weather and layer up, but is it likely that things will be snowed in and closed? I realise that it's the dead of winter so I'm guessing it might not be plausible, so should I pick a different destination?

I don't think the roads and stuff will be closed, and I think that castles and palaces will still be open (they were still open in Berlin in January)

But if you like outdoorsy stuff (and I don't), it's probably not the best time to visit.

I do like outdoorsy stuff, but maybe the snow might make everything beautiful? I just wanna know how accessible it'll all be. I assume train lines don't close?

All of the train lines were open when I was in Berlin in January, but unless you count China, I've never been east of Germany.
