Default Should all opinions be respected?

I think not. Some opinions (ex. "the Holocaust was a good thing") are so far out of the realm of acceptable.

All opinions should be allowed in public discourse.
I don't have to respect them, but I wouldn't never condone silencing them or intimidating them.

I don't think anyone should be censored, but some opinions are not worthy of respect.

I wouldn't respect someone who believed that Jews should be exterminated, for example.

You're walking on dangerous ground when you begin to restrict people from speaking their mind. People at large with no emotional attachment to the subject are able to see who is right and who is wrong. When you try to punish people for expressing their thoughts you cause people to wonder if the person being punished is being punished for telling the truth. It's a natural reaction people who have no dog in the fight have when someone is being punished over words. So you actually do the opposite of what you intend when you restrict people's speech.

For example, flat Earth is an idiotic belief. If you don't allow them to speak openly about the belief you miss an opportunity to make them look stupid. If you try to hush them down people start to wonder what is the big deal and are now interested in knowing more about flat Earth theory when you could have nipped it in the bud by ripping apart their terrible arguments.

I'm not saying that people with bad opinions should be censored, I'm just saying that they are not worthy of respect or being taken seriously.

I would say "Tolerated, yes; respected, No."

Not necessarily respected, but permitted. Depends on whether we’re talking of socially or by the government.
