Both the ancient Greeks and the Romans were great of their time, but in economic and imperial power, the Romans won

the Greeks were good at philosophy, mathematics, astronomy, poetry among others
while the Romans were good at war, construction, colonization and the economy

for me the Romans are better because they took the best of the Greeks and dislodged other qualities, that's why they had an empire that lasted more than a thousand years was one of the longest in history

Imagine if the Italian army (current) had the same level as the Roman and neither the Wehrmacht nor the Red Army could have won it.
