You can't compare Rome to Greece because what occurred in Greece during the Golden Age was unparalleled in terms of philosophical inquiry, epistemology, science, politics, architecture, art, military planning/strategy, etc. Rome was an empire (like other empires) and did an adequate job of borrowing and developing systems (particularly political/military) and expanding empire.However, when we're discussing achievement in the sciences, math, art, etc. who do we turn to?
