    Default When did English-speakers stop calling Germans "Dutchmen"?

    I know it was still common in the 1700s, hence the term Pennsylvania Dutch. When did it die out?

    It's all a synonymous, that's why the confusion

    Deutsch (German, in German language)
    Duits (German, in Dutch language)

    Perhaps the English speakers in origin named "Dutch" the people from Holland because they speak a German-related language (the name Dutchmen = Germans is technically correct)
