I like spicy food, so if this works, it might help me lose weight rapidly.

They can increase your metabolism but the best way is to cut down refined carbs and sugars which have been stripped off their nutrients and dietary fibre. Consume more complex carbs instead, like vegetables and whole grains, they will keep your sugar levels constant throughout the day and have nutritional value. Spices alone won't help much.
