Only in the cities and larger towns. He said he wants to see the more simple side of Serbia where tradition and culture are preserved. I don't think most people in such places speak English even on an elementary level.

Use your hands, that is how Balkanians talk with hands, aswell talk loudly You can run around other smaller cities but I dont really know what you would search there, you should just visit bigger cities, the best Novi Sad or Belgrade or Niš.
