In Belgium women got the right to vote only in 1948. All men get theirs in 1891. The Socialists were against women's suffrage and the Catholics for (and many since 1891).

All in all, a good thing, even if women seem to vote more left wing today. They're half our population and not a demographic to ignore.

What do you think about Sebija Izetbegović being the main candidate for Bosniak member of the presidency?

Indeed. Poor women have always had to work. In history, it would have included farming, tending animals, making clothes & trinkets to sell at market, seamstresses, washerwomen, nannies, etc. & then into other roles during the Industrial Revolution (like men). They were poor, after all, and didn't have the luxury to sit at home while the "brutish" man did all the work as modern feminists have tried to portray.

Just as how in the upper social ranks women were educated as could be afforded & as desired there were women authors (even in the 1500s or Saraswati Gangadhar 1600s India, etc.), women landowners (e.g. Margaret Brent, 1600s, etc.), women doctors (Dorothea Erxleben, 1700s, etc.), women soldiers (Hannah Snell, 1700s, etc.), women politicians (Ethel Bentham, 1800, etc.), avaitan experts (Katherine Wright) or Emma Lilian Todd (who started designing her own planes), airplane pilots (Amelia Earhart), hotair balloon pilots & even parachutists (Jeanne Labrosse, 1700s), etc., etc.

Really, compared to history, feminism hasn't done much that wouldn't have happened in due time.

Wasn't men's vote (simple) introduced in 1919? I have in memory 1890 was the plural one, where not every vote was equal.

She has proved herself to be a good leader in the Hospitals she directed, I don't see why a politician would have more credibility than her.

This is why I voted for mixed/neutral. Yes, women are better off because they can vote and they make up a significant part of society, but at the same time, it's shifted politics left, and has led to the legalization of abominations like abortion and contraception.
