Should the age of majority be moved to 16?

No. It should be raised to 25. The human brain keeps on developing until the age 25/27 so to give the age of majority to what are, essentially, children is absurd.

18 is still an adolescent and hardly 'young adult' to me, let alone 16.

They need responsibility to learn what and how to handle responsibility. Treating them as children because of their number of years alive teaches them nothing.

From 14, I taught my children they were at the start of young adulthood and were expected to act so. They just need decent, real hands-on parenting, especially from their early teens. The only role models that really matter are family.

At 16, they'll still make mistakes. At 18, they should be fairly sharp but young.

This is an imbecilic idea.

Societies have flourished and thrived with ages of majority between 15-18. There's absolutely no reason to fix what's not broken because of some stupid neuroscientific fad.

Heck no, 18 is the best age although in Australia 16 is the legal age of consent for marriage and sex, 18 for alcohol.

Actually: in just about every European society, the age of majority used to be much higher than now. In the 19th to mid 20th century, only 25 year olds were allowed to vote, in the U.S today - only those over the 35 who are native born citizens can run for the presidency. Science and tradition work. Leftist fads (they lowered it so they could get their hands on the impressionable young voters) do not.
