Albanian is a language considered by linguists related to Illyrian and Messapic and it is no coincidence that these populations belonged to Y-DNA J-L283, R-CTS1450 and R-PF7563 which make up around 35%-45% of Albanian Y-DNA today. So part of the early Albanians came from these populations for sure that lived in the West-Central Balkans.
South Slavs don't seem very Illyrian or even Native Balkan. Let's not forget Romans occupied the Balkans so basically they occupied Albanian lands and all these things later allowed Slavs and other populations to settle in the Balkans.
