Started reading a book by Mika Waltari, but it wasn't doing anything for me..

Oldest book I ever had was a copy of Tennyson's In Memoriam.. I don't recall the exact date.. it was from sometime in the first half of the twentieth century..

I have a copy here of Mensch und Geschichte (by Herder) printed in Fraktur and in German - also dating back to 1941. I am trying to find older books. I used to have copies of Le Comte de Monte-Cristo in Dutch, dating back to the 1870s when I was a kid but they have stolen from me since when I moved from place to place.

I love the look, feel, and smell of books.. I do have a kindle (it is nice, imo, to be able to "turn page" with a press of a thumb/finger).. but the physicality of books will always be dear to me..

I am a bit of a Luddite in that I only temporarily download books until I can get my hands on the full printed copy. The older the book, the better. I want to be able to feel and smell them, to browse through them and it reads better.
