The point of the article is that it can be fairly easy to manipulate people's attitude, beliefs and behaviours through media propaganda.

If all you read is right-wing propaganda and stories of how the left is destroying the West etc etc, then of course you are going to believe that.

The reverse is also true (those on the left just reading left-wing stuff).

The reality is you need a fairly decent spread of content to actually get a full picture of what is going on.
