    But Germans have a completely different language and culture, and significant genetic and religious differences as well.

    Yes, but Germany as a whole has a much larger Protestant population than France or Spain.

    Spaniards, because of Romance language and Catholicism. I don't see why Bobby mentioned the Mediterranean coast since that is a small part of France.
