Probably one of the best things that happened to us as a country has been losing our colonies, is a pity that we are fucking this with inmigrants in the past ten years.

I think is otherwise, in fact to be honest with you, you would had survived with your colonies, by replenishing them with money and more Spanish colonists, assimilating with the Amerind and ssa slaves. If that would had being the case you wouldn't have to be so bloody mad about your them coming to your land this days as they would have being more Spanish blood then now and you would have a more broader and stable economy.....

Like south of the Rio Grande there was a lot of death from disease. Given the sparse population no doubt less than in Spanish held territory. Spanish diseases wiped out a large chunk of Mexico's Amerind population by 1600. It seems they humped most of the others.

A brief look at population stats in the 1500s up to 1600 shows Spain with a population ranging from 7-10 million and England under 5 million.
