Why Do Many Non Germanic Euros Dislike Germans

Naturally, big nations have a lot of both positive and negative in them. German nation is big.

Funny enough the only few real hateful commentaries against Germany I`ve personally ever heard came from other Germanic Euros. Cant remember ever hearing a non Germanic Euro saying something really awful about Germany or Germans. I dont know the reason for that nor do I want to speculate on this. It`s also just my own experience and I dont get offended over honest critiqze or simple "Nazi" jokes nor do most other normal Germans. You`ll mostly get a laugh as response and maybe a snarky remark based on clichees of your own nationality, thats it.

The history of Germany cannot be reduced to the few years of Nazism. In the same way, the history of Italy cannot be reduced to the period of fascism (which, coincidentally, anticipated German Nazism in some respects).

For me Germany means : Bach, Beethoven, Goethe, Albrecht Dürer, Leibniz, Red beard Frederick ( Frederick I or Barbarossa ), Charles V, Kant, Schopenhauer, Gauss, Ohm, Karl Lagerfeld, Horst Tappert ( Derrick ),Claudia Schiffer, Schumacher.... Einstein ? NO..

I think it was influenced by certain comments in other Apricity threads and comments back in 2018 when I made this Post.

As I wrote there seems to at times be both an admiration for Germans but also a contempt. The admiration may be people describing German work ethic but a criticism may be referring to Germans as unfriendly or cold or boring. Those are just types of comments I recall reading when I made the post. Sometimes I wondered if the contempt may be from inferiority complex or jealousy of certain non German nationals, but maybe its from various reasons.

In Hungary the situation is difficult. Basically the hungarian society likes germans, but there is a hate towards the german elite like Merkel or von der Leyen. I have not experienced any ethnically based german hate in Hungary.

Because of IIWW. Children in ex Yugoslavian space for decades were played of Germans (bad guys) and Partisans (good guys) with toy guns.
Dozens of movies and TV series in Yugoslavia have been shot with the theme of IIWW and evil Germans.

Partisan/communist fight against foreign occupiers (mostly Germans) and domestic traitors was main myth of second Yugoslavia promoted for decades in schools, media, movies etc.
