Why Do Many Non Germanic Euros Dislike Germans

It seems many Europeans quitely admire Germans but seems at same time many dont like Germans.
This dualism of admiration and yet contempt.

For me it's pretty simple, not too much drama or anything.

One partisan relative drowned in a ship that sank, he was in there alongside the Cretan Jews and heading to concentration camps.
One much closer relative murdered by the SS just for running out of fear: he was handicapped and around 30.

The biggest haters of Germany in my experience seem to be Americans (mostly) and Brits since WWII.

I'm not sure about this, apart from a few chav fans at international tournaments, Brits generally admire the Germans (begrudgingly) especially the cars.

German states were more or less mostly Allies against France or France + Spain right up until the end of the 19th century.

People actually really despise France far more than Germany, especially seeing as many French really despise the Brits even more.

The German-English relationship is hopelessly spoiled. The English are deeply hostile towards Germans at least since 1871 and two World Wars against each other have not made it better, to express it carefully. Well, to be fair, when it comes to American-German relations, it seems that the Americans who "hate" Germans usually see it in reverse; they presume that it's the Germans who hold them in contempt (and dislike them back). Perhaps Americans (begrudgingly) admire German inventions and craftmanship.

I have that impression too. Both the British and France still are somewhat uneasy when dealing with Germany at times, yet both seem they wouldnt hesitate at all to side with Germans over the respective other, lol.

Dont know. Americans seem to be pretty good with Germany and as I mentioned before Brits may occasionally be somewhat stiff and uneasy around Germans, but generally non hostile.
