Do you believe the phrase "happy marriage" to be an oxymoron?

I do. There are no happy marriages, only some that are less unhappy than others.

As with anything worthwhile, a happy marriage isn't necessarily one that doesn't require any nurturing. The happiest marriages are between those that understand the depth of their commitment to one another and make the effort to work with each other in times of both good and bad. This cooperation is borne of mutual love and respect for each other.

JMO speaking as a person that is actually married.

Everyone has their own ideas as to what constitutes a happy marriage.

"Romantic love" is a Disneyland myth, and sex is probably the most overrated thing ever.

I'd rather have my freedom and independence than prostrate myself to a woman for 30 seconds of dick tingles every now and then.

Marriage by all means isn't for everyone. However this does not mean there are no happy marriages, either.

I don't think all marriages are completely miserable, I just don't think any marriages are truly happy either. You can never truly be happy unless you are on your own.

If I had the money, I'd hire a surrogate, so I could have the benefits of fatherhood without the detriments of matrimony.

Marriage can be hard on people that need a lot of personal space. I'm introverted myself and need a lot of personal space. My husband understands this thankfully. Also, due to his occupation, he is gone much of the time as it is so we work out pretty well and it helps us to appreciate each other more when we're together.

I'm glad that works for you.

But for me, I see no benefit to marriage, and a lot of detriments, even ignoring my political ideology.

But when you factor in my MGTOW/anti-feminist ideology, it just makes my determination to stay single even stronger.
