Good to see Turks have alternatives in their politics.

Turkey has been a democracy since 1946, with all its flaws.

Well, a volatile one with a history of military coups. Being able to vote and having alternative are different things. Parties need to exist.

Karamanoglu may seem like he has dignity, sense. But he's likely working for Western Powers......the guy was pushing Abdullah Gul ffs.

Military coups happent in many countries during the Cold War. Turkey has flaws but parties have always existed.

You don't know much about Turkey, I think. I thought you were more informed. You used to make more reasonable posts about Turkey.

Man. You are just getting offended over nothing. I am informed on the things you are trying to school me on.

You just misunderstand how I view Turkey.

Military coups in Turkey were always done under the command of America/England. This is a fact.

Well, I said it's a good thing there is an alternative. I even say this of countries in Western Europe. Sometimes a political party's dominance is so anchored the next election you lack alternatives but to vote for protest parties (as a political barometer) and/or accept status quo.

Don't assume Europeans to be that ignorant to think Turkey is a one-party dictatorship.

In the Flemish Region during the Verhofstadt terms people voted Vlaams Blok/Vlaams Belang for that reason.

Well, you are giving off the vibe that you are surprised about different candidates and parties contesting in Turkish elections which disappointed me, rather than offend. Erdogan and his party have been dominant for over a decade, but there has always been opposition and a wide range of parties and candidates contesting.

Though you have a point; alternatives in this elections are much stronger which is why a possible defeat of Erdogan is seriously being discussed.
