When China becomes the No 1 economy, will East Asians replace Whites as the global beauty standard?

Given that for the last five hundred or so years, one predominantly White country or another has been the global superpower, this has undoubtedly left its effects in terms of what is seen as more or less attractive across the globe. Therefore, once China becomes the No 1 economy and world superpower, will we all of a sudden regard archetypal East Asian characteristics - yellowish skin, small eyes, small frames etc. - as being more attractive and desirable than any other?

I think the profile of East Asians will elevate, you can see it happening with Kpop for example. It hasn't really impacted how Whites are viewed however.

How China's rise will reshape global culture is constantly over-exaggerated. It will definitely elevate the image of East Asians. At the same time, one forgets the deep historical reasons why Europeans dominated the global consciousness, because they actually colonized, occupied and controlled nearly the entire world for several centuries. The days of colonization are over.

I don't think East Asians ever fully addopted our Western beauty standards and I don't think we will entirely adopt theirs if they ever become the global standard.

Most East Asians don't like the bodybuilder type of physique as it is popular in the U.S. Do you see skinny guys becoming the trend any time soon in the U.S. where bigger is always better?

I would say there is no singular, definitive global beauty standard. Its more inclusive towards one's preferences and cultural affiliations individually. Such as, India drawn to South Asian beauty, East Asian countries drawn to East Asian beauty, Sub- Saharan African countries drawn to African beauty, Europe drawn to European beauty, etc. In the end, its subjective, tribalistic and peculiar to each person's experiences/mode of thinking.

China has historically not had the missionary zeal that Europeans had, because of their Christian Abrahamic religion. Historically, China was arrogant and saw itself as the center of the world, but it felt no desire to remake other cultures or civilizations in its own image. I don't see this mentality changing. At the core, Chinese are extremely practical people.
