Modern-day Finns aren't responsible for whatever happened in the past. The past is dead, and to cling-on to what is dead is reminscent of maggots clinging onto a rotting corpse. Focus on the present moment of time - for life is short.

The past is not quite dead but lives on today as well. We remember the victims of the holocaust and the victims of the Armenian genocide as well. Many lost their grandparents. We should stand for what is right, but not blame modern people if they are able to be awake morally. Modern Germans do condemn Nazi acts and they do right, despite not being responsible themselves. Russians however are not able to do this for so many reasons. One of the reasons is their propaganda, only after Soviet Union was down people started to be aware of the Stalin's purges. But many still have respect for that mass murderer, since that Soviet system didn't really care to teach people about some human rights. Another reason is that they were on the winner's side. Either way they have a responsibility to condemn Soviet crimes against human rights. Just because Stalin wasn't a slav is not a good reason not to do so. Or just because he wasn't democratically elected like Hitler was.

Anyway this post is uberly stupid, since Soviets attacked tiny Finland in the Winter war. Some Russians still believe it was a tiny Finland which attacked them... So funny.

Didn't quite get you... Are you referring to the dissolution of the Soviet Union? If so then yes, it did lose pretty badly to the side it was competing with. It lost badly and ugly leaving millions of people in poverty.

1) Because Finland was not the only enemy of the USSR in the Second World War, not the main one. Against the USSR was the whole of Europe: Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Romania, Hungary, Finland, Croatia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Japan. Germany was helped economically: Sweden, Norway, Switzerland. The USSR had no allies until 1945.
2) Of all the nations of Germany's allies, the Finns were the most cruel enemies. According to the memories of my grandmother, a Finnish soldier with a bayonet was chasing my grandmother's brother. The soldier wanted to tear the baby's belly with a bayonet, because the child showed him his tongue - teasing.
