What do you think is the ultimate origin of Germanic people?
I've heard a lot of various theories on them, but does anybody know for sure where their ultimate place of origin is?
Seems they burst on the scene in the early ADs from pretty much out of nowhere.

I've read that early Germans originated on the Southern Scandinavia and the North German Plain.

I think southern scandinavia and northern germany. Thats what I heard. Northern part of Scandinavia were Saamis native.
