By the way, Eurovision totally gave China the finger when they decided to censor gay flags, tattoos and a homo couple kissing. They pulled the right for the PRC to broadcast it because censoring their show wasn't allowed.
In Russia they just called it a 'close male friendship', but of course Russians just know better. Just an excuse not to censor it. And they ignored the LGBT flags instead.

Even if I find the PRC silly in censoring this 'degeneracy', I'm still confused as in why it gets officially broadcast in the PRC to begin with lol.

Pretty much all the major Western shows, sitcoms, etc get broadcasted in China. The Chinese govt. is very mindful of controlling the Western liberal narrative in the media, it can be very annoying, but it is what it is.

I wonder what would happen next year. Eurovision - as it is known - is very LGBT-oriented. The organisation of course did it because they know who are their main fans (but probably still more because their show got censored altogether regardless I guess). Still, having their show broadcast in China must have brought quite a deal of their revenue which now are gone. That is if China is pulled from broadcasting it legally indefinitely. Probably either that or some new contracts.

In the end all very silly if you ask me. The LGBT themes are no threat to our morality IMO, but China censoring won't impact the rights of LGBT in China neither probably. It's a principle thing obviously.

Personally, I support the rights of LGBT, but sometimes it is annoying when it is constantly shoved in your face. However, I do support gay marriage and I have no problems with them, especially since I come from a city where a huge proportion of the city is LGBT.

I personally support LGBT rights, but I do get annoyed when I see a clear agenda to promote it in the media. I am from a city with a lot of LGBT and I get along well with them IRL, except for the drama queen types, but at the same time, it is strange when they are being promoted as the norm nowadays.

True. But I think annoyance is the extent of it all, whereas others believe the influence of it all runs deeper.

I was pretty pro-LGBT rights when it was just about gay marriage, because IMO, that doesn't impact the rights of other people in society. But it started to really grate on me when after they won that battle, they started to promote the gender neutral bathrooms for transgenders because they are trying to force all of society to bend to the 0.01% of the population who are trans.
