This is confusing - so is Evangelical an ethnicity like Jewish? I don't understand why Jews are over represented in DNA studies if its a religion.

Having said that I firmly believe Israel has the right to exist... but I hate it when they take the higher moral ground when it comes to events occurring on Palestine.

In the U.S, Judaism is treated as a religion in public opinion polls. But in many ways, it has more to do with ethnicity/ies, as all Ashkenazi Jews are of the same ethnicity. Most are secular in the U.S. (and in Israel, for that matter) anyway.

The ironic thing it was a European powers who created and empowered it. Especially Britain, then later others and now the U.S. The West has always been pro Israel in one way or another.


Anyways I am neither anti or pro, but I slightly will go toward the Pali side, because they have been there since the beginning. You can't remove it because it would lead to more bloodshed, and more hate so the solution is to give the Palis their rights and Jerusalem should be an international city for all the Abrahamic faiths.

The Ottomans conquered and held virtually all of the territory of the former Byzantine Empire. They were an empire who conquered Rome militarily and proclaimed themselves to be Rome, and seemed to be accepted as such by a number of Middle-Eastern states. If they werent Muslims it may be that they just became a Turkish Roman Dynasty. Thats how I've come to see them.

In the end, I agree culturally the Greeks and the Latin countries are more successors of Rome culturally by far.
