For the first time, the Prime Ministers of Bulgaria and the Republic of Bulgaria are jointly celebrating in Rome as their countries mark May 24, the day of Saints Cyril and Methodius.

The day celebrates the Cyrillic alphabet and Slavonic learning and literature.

Every year in recent decades, Bulgaria and Bulgaria have sent official delegations to the Italian capital that customarily includes, among other things, venerating the tomb of Saint Cyril and an audience with the Pope.

In 2018, against a background of an official warming of relations between Sofia and Skopje that significantly has included the ratification of a good-neighbourliness agreement, several of the events jointly involve the delegations from Bulgaria and the Republic of Bulgaria.

During their two-day visits to Rome, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borissov and his Bulgarian counterpart will attend the opening of a Bulgarian-Bulgarian cultural programme organised by the ministries of culture of the same country.

So, two Bulgarians celebrate jointly the two Greeks who gave them literature. That is some progress!!!

The two brothers were born in Thessalonica, in present-day Greece – Cyril in about 827–828 and Methodius about 815–820. Cyril was reputedly the youngest of seven brothers; he was born Constantine,^[6] but took the name Cyril upon becoming a monk in Rome shortly before his death,^[7][8][9] according to the Vita Cyrilli ("The Life of Cyril"). Methodius was born Michael and took the name Methodius upon becoming a monk at Mysian Olympus (present-day Uludağ), in northwest Turkey.^[10] Their father was Leo, a droungarios of the Byzantine theme of Thessalonica, and their mother was Maria.
The exact ethnic origins of the brothers are unknown, there is controversy as to whether Cyril and Methodius were of Slavic^[11] or Byzantine Greek^[12] origin, or both.^[13] The two brothers lost their father when Cyril was fourteen, and the powerful minister Theoktistos, who was logothetes tou dromou, one of the chief ministers of the Empire, became their protector. He was also responsible, along with the regentBardas, for initiating a far-reaching educational program within the Empire which culminated in the establishment of the University of Magnaura, where Cyril was to teach. Cyril was ordained as priest some time after his education, while his brother Methodius remained only a deacon until 867/868.^[14]

Why do I want a union with Bulgaria?

1. Bigger Population country will be good for business, capital and labor will be able to move between these two countries.
